How Drug Works
Imitrex targets the blood vessels and the nerves which cause the migraine headaches.
How Imitrex should be taken.
When you have migraine simptoms take one dose of Imitrex. In some cases two doses, but not more than 200 mg a day, can be taken only if instructed by your personal healthcare practitioner.
Side effects that may be possible for Imitrex
The following side effects can occur when taking Imitrex: dizziness, nausea, fatigue, drowsiness
Precautions or Warnings for this particular drug
If you have any of the following conditions you should not take Imitrex: allergy to Imitrex, Raynaud syndrome, strokes in the past, certain types of heart disease,
transient ischemic attacks, uncontrolled blood pressure, peripheral vascular disease. You should consult your personal physician before taking this medication if
you smoke, have high cholesterole or high blood pressure, diabetes.
Overdose
In case of overdose you must get immediate medical care.
Drug Interactions
Before taking this medication inform your personal physician if you take any headache medication, ergotamine or MAO inhibitors
such as linezolid, furazolidone, tranylcypromine, phenelzine, selegiline.
What to do if you miss a dose of Imitrex
Imitrex is not to be taken routinely. Only take this medication when a migraine attack occurs.
How to store Imitrex
Keep this medication in its container, at normal temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of the reach of children.
Pregnancy/Nursing
If you are pregnant please consult your personal physician before taking Imitrex.
